Printing Specifications
The magazines are printed on a web offset press.
For best color reproductions of four-color ads, provide
chromalins made with tones that match AAAA/MPA inks.
For best color match, the same type paper should be used for proofing.
Bleeds
Bleeds are available on full pages. Bleeds must extend 1/4” beyond trim size
of magazine. No additional charge for bleeds.
Media Requirements
Ads arriving on disk should be saved as Adobe PDF certified for
CMYK printing using the PDF/X-1a:2001 preset. All 4-color ads should be set up to print as process colors. A laser proof must be provided to ensure accuracy of output. CDs are preferred however, electronic transfers are accepted.

On a Mac you will need a third party program such as Rbrowser or Transmit to
upload files to an FTP server. If you don’t have the software, use Internet
Explorer to go to same address as above.
Download: RBrowserLite.app.sitx
Open application and under Go/New Site.

Then login and drag/drop file into existing folder for your
company/institution, or if no folder exists just leave loose in ads folder.
Stitched Center Inserts
Inserts may be furnished by the advertiser or may be
designed and printed at the Review and Herald Publishing Association for an
additional charge.
Paginated Inserts
These are part of the magazine and are printed on the same paper.
Dated Material
Extra bindery time will be needed if you want to
add an envelope to your insert. If your insert is time sensitive
or includes dated material, please be aware
that the magazine’s issue date does not necessarily
correspond with the delivery date.
